Historic Shelby Manor at Arcadia Farms
Once part of a 25,000 acre tract of land granted to Governor Isaac Shelby by President George Washington after the Revolutionary War, Shelby Manor is now the centerpiece of a 700 acre historic farm called Historic Arcadia Farm. Shelby Manor is a National Registry protected, 4 story, 7,000 sq ft Greek Revival mansion that was meticulously renovated in the early 1980’s. This 5 bedroom, 5 bath home still maintains many of the features from it’s 1836 heritage. Some of the more notable features include working fireplaces in every room, 14 ft ceilings with massive original interior doors, intricately carved woodwork and floors milled from trees found at Arcadia, and thick exterior walls created from brick that were handmade in 1836 from limestone and clay found on the farm. You can relax on one of the 3 massive porches or peer out one of the massive windows that give you the best views of the Central Kentucky Bluegrass region.
